Perception

“Perception is the way in which something is regarded, understood or interpreted”

Having conversations with friends and family as I wrote my book, I realised it was important to recognise that when reliving these stories of the pain, of the suicidal tendencies, the thoughts and the feelings that it was my perception of the events.

The depths of depression and anxiety create their perceptions that simply aren’t reality. In the book, I point out how deep and destructive the mind can be as our perceptions of our internal dialogue wreak havoc, and how the external world we seek out can feed into that.

Each thought, each feeling deepened my perception that the world around me was better off without me. The pain of that, and believing that added fuel to a burning fire within the mind.

It takes a lot of work to change the perception and create a positive outlook in the mind and it’s something I am proud to have made happen. It’s not a flawless system but what I talk about in the book allows me to live a much freer life physically and in my mind.
I hope when you read the book it can help you as well, or maybe give you some guidance on how you can help someone else suffering.
