Someone struggling

by | Jan 22, 2024

“Someone struggling doesn’t need, nor want sympathy. They need and want kindness and compassion”.
Quite often I’ve had conversations with people that say someone is looking for attention when they act out with mental health issues. There seems to be a negative connotation with the words ‘looking for attention’ and I use to take offence to it, but I agree with the words but not in the way they are used.

People will seek out, and they are looking for attention. Quite often they are doing it because they don’t know how else to get help and they are looking for help, which is attention.

When you think someone is looking for attention, I want you to step back an act with kindness, compassion and empathy rather than judgement. Stand by the person in need as they walk in to the unknown and seek help for there struggles.

As a collective we succeed 😊
